Writing is hard.

I had every intention of writing some more today. I was going to specifically work on a different project so that I could feel like I was moving along on everything I’m trying to accomplish.

But it’s Monday, and it wasn’t a fun Monday.

I wasn’t sure if I was even going to post today because I don’t have any updates but the truth is, this is a part of being a writer. There are going to be days where there are no words. There will be days when your personal life is chaotic and overwhelming and is taking up more space than it normally does. There will be days where if you have a day job, that it’s taking more of your attention then it typically does.

Today was one of those days.

I typically write on my breaks. I don’t always have time to write when I’m at home, so I write while on break to make sure I feel like I’m making progress. But today I needed my breaks to be able to continue to give my 100% while working. And ya know what? That’s totally okay. I’ve made great progress, and I’ll only fizzle out like a used sparkler if I don’t listen to my mind and body when it tells me I need to slow down.

I’ll continue to listen to myself tomorrow, but my goal is to write for at least an hour. I’ll set a timer and give myself permission to just do as much as I can in that allotted time. Being an adult who tries to be an active part of society, and all that jazz takes up a great deal of our time and it’s okay to take a break in pursuing that thing that you want to let yourself have a breather, take a chill pill, and maybe have a nice treat.

Anyways, I think I might curl up on the couch and find a good movie to watch…or I’ll read like usual. I found all 10 books of “The Princess Diaries” series by Meg Cabot for $5.99 on Kobo’s site! I never read them when I was a kid so they’ll be a fun, quick and kind of nostalgic read. I can already see significant differences between the movies and the books and I’m only 2% in.

You get to see my super girly, motivation laptop background I made with pinterest, canva, and iced coffee in hand.

Stay writing (but not at the expense of your sanity)
