I have a goal.

This goal isn’t all that unique and a great deal of people have or have had this goal well before I even existed.

And yet, I’m still going to write about it. I’m going to pretend that my journey is in any way shape or form different or more important than anybody else’s. Because if I don’t…. well the imposter syndrome sets in and suddenly it’s been two weeks and I haven’t written nearly as much, if at all, as I had meant to.

It’s June 30th, 2025. That’s when I’m writing this. I want to finish the first draft of my epic fantasy by the end of summer. Have it ready to publish by end of year. Oh, and finish a whole other book possibly at the same time.

Am I insane? Yes, it’s my middle name.

Will I accomplish this? Time will tell. But join along on the journey, won’t ya?

As of right now my current standing is as follows.

Project Prophecy (Title has changed so many times I’ve lost track)

Word count: 44, 387

Goal: At least 90,000

Which means I’m already halfway. Which is awesome and daunting all at the same time. I’ve never written this many words for one project before. I’ve always been more of a short-form writer with a desire to be long-form.

Odd territory but we’re kind of loving it.

The Afterlife Sucks (This title has stayed the same! Hurrah!)

Word Count: 3,389 (but I got to about 10k in another draft and realized it wasn’t what I wanted lol)

Goal: At least 75,000

Which means ya girl has a lot more to do especially since I’m still up in the air on the direction I wish to go.

Both I’m thinking will be series. One is an epic fantasy as I’ve stated and the other is a comedy first and foremost. I’m honestly trying to give myself unhinged permission to write the most absurd things for my comedy because I want it to be that stupid, silly, hilarious type of fun.

Crossed fingers I can accomplish that.

Stay writing, y’all (she says more to herself then anything…she really needs the push)

Here’s hoping your goal will go well. For some people, it can be a life goal. I named my own project, in a brutally honest way, “Project Eternity” and, in a couple of days, it’ll be 10 years since I started.

The fact you haven’t given up on the project is proof enough. It’s those who give up who never accomplish writing a book and publishing it. Hopefully it’ll be out in the world one day!
