Today marks the beginning of draft 2 of Chuck the Chosen. I’ve drafted stories, both short and long, but never have I completed a novel from start to finish, drafting included.
I’m in unknown territory, and frankly, I’m slightly in over my head…but I’m also really frigging excited!
It’s pretty wild how capable we are having more than one emotion at the exact same time. I find the entire endeavour of pursuing authorship daunting but also unbelievably exciting. I mean yeah, I could totally fail but at least I frigging did it! And that will feel so good when I’m finished.
What else is new?
I got not one, but two whole rejections. Yay for me! My children’s book is yet to find the agent of its dreams so I’m back to square one. And my comedy short story “Customer Service in the Afterlife Sucks” is likely going to be rejected another time…because of my stupidity. It turns out I already sent that piece into a certain science-fiction/fantasy magazine just last year. Whoops. Crossed fingers anyways, maybe they’ll like it this time.
What am I reading currently?
I’m flip-flopping a lot, which I hate! I’m trying to finish the third dungeon crawler book. Those dang trains are tripping me up! I’m also trying to finish Eloise’s story in Bridgerton. As for non-fiction (it is a rare moment that this happens) I’m reading “Self-Editing for Fiction Writers” by Renni Browne and Dave King. Figured it might be good to read up on something I’m finding to be stressful.
Short and sweet but more to come!
Stay writing because “what, like it’s hard?”
Oh! And you can follow me on IG, Threads and now you can support me on Patreon (I promise I’ll start posting at some point) ❤
