Hello from the depths of writing helheim (that, believe it or not, is a reference to my book…I will provide no context for this.)
I swear, it’s like I’m swimming through literal mud right now. My progress this last week has been pitiful BUT I did manage to meet up with some friends and I realized how much I missed them. It was a much needed social break. AND I got to try archery for the first time and I was overwhelmingly surprised by how decent I was at it. Secret talent? Probably not, but it will certaintly help me continue to write one particular character in Chuck the Chosen as I move into the editing process.
So, as you can see above I have now realized this book will likely be around 80k. I started to take out chapters that made me go “why???” and combined some that made me go “how do I make that a full chapter???” So, you know, really trusting my gut here.
I’m also trying to sort out both a patreon and starting an email list. I realize not everyone will subscribe to my website because well, I’m pretty sure it requires a wordpress account. The problem is that the one emailing software I found that would be free and indepedent…is confusing as frick. Perhaps I am the problem but as of right now it’s a learning curve. Ugh. I’m so over those.
Oh! And I’m putting on my big girl writing pants and trying to find out quotes for editors and possibly book cover designs.
I am in over my head! But that’s alright, it’ll work out in the end…I hope!
I finished the life list! Still haven’t picked up woman down again and I’m not sure when and if I will but I’m currently reading both Funny Story by Emily Henry and Tourist Season by Brynne Weaver. Some very fun reads! I think I’m going to end up being a huge fan of Brynne Weaver as this is only the first book I’m trying by her but I’ve already bought Butcher and Blackbird for my next read by her.
Okay that’s it for now! Stay writing so you have something to give to your editor!
