Once upon a time there was a girl. A girl who was so tired that she barely wrote a single word for three whole days. The girl had to admit that the first day of no writing was due to her desire to take a break. You see, she felt she had earned it considering she had just hit a milestone in her manuscript. The two following days were excruciating, and it took all her strength to simply stay awake long enough to do her adult responsibilities, let alone world build from the recesses of her meager little brain.

Dramatic enough?

I took a few days off. I think I wrote maybe a total of like 500 words…maybe if I’m being generous. I was so exhausted and just did not feel like really doing anything. I did finish Midnight Sun after years of reading it. Which is honestly really normal for me. I also got a new keyboard that is beautiful and silent. It’s somehow exactly the keyboard I had been looking for and yet it was significantly cheaper than what I thought I would end up spending.

Luckily, the new keyboard will likely…hopefully…motivate me to write even more whenever I can actually be at my desk. It’s the most beautiful creation and I even posted a reel of it on IG cause that’s how strong my feelings are.

I am hoping I’ll be able to hit 70k by the end of the week and at that point I think I will call the first draft finished and start in on draft 2. My end goal is still at least 90k on the finished project which shouldn’t be too hard considering how many chapters need completing and how many details I know I need to add to paint a stronger picture.

It’s honestly so difficult to ensure people get as vivid of an image as you do as the writer without boring the ever living crapola out of the reader. It’s a very fine line and I’m not very good at balancing so cross your fingers for me.

I am also trying a new writing software. I’ve got a 14-day trial for Dabble. I saw a post on Threads showing an email that sent that they wouldn’t be implementing any of kind of AI into the software and I honestly love that so we’re trying it out to see if it will work for me. So far, it has word goals which I love, chapter sections that I think I might actually like more than LivingWriter’s version, and something about the way the front page of any manuscript looks makes me feel like I’m legit.

I’m likely going to write more today in Project Prophecy but I’m posting this early because I’ve been away for so many days. I honestly tried to get a post out yesterday and that clearly didn’t happen so…

Word Count Update!

Project Prophecy is now at 61,572!! I also have fully settled myself into a title for this book like to the point that my folder for saved files has the title, and the front matter of the manuscript actually has a title…so perhaps an announcement will happen soon.

Ta ta for now. Stay writing cause we got time to make up for!

Oh and you can follow me on IG & Threads
