An unimpressive day in comparison to some of the really good writing days I’ve had but that’s okay. Like I said before, it’s an ebb and flow. Some days you are forcing the pen, other days it’s impossible to not get the ink everywhere.

The really awesome thing is I’m totally falling in love with one of the characters I hadn’t explored enough in earlier writing sessions. His character is really coming together and I feel good about the emotional depth I’m giving him, the personality he has, and just the overall way other characters react to him. He has motive, and I’m setting up (hopefully) some kind of foreshadowing that will lead the reader to question who one person is. I’m attempting to lead the reader down the wrong path and I’m hoping I end up being successful in it because I love reading books with this kind of element in it. I’d love to say I pulled it off myself.

Tomorrow, and I’m putting it in writing here in the hopes it keeps me to my word, I plan on not only hitting 60k but also doing a bit of reorganizing and restructuring. Currently I’ve just been writing random scenes, whatever I knew needed to happen but wasn’t sure at what point in the story it should occur. So, I need to organize all those chapters into their right place and then continue from there. I’m at the point where I kind of just need to fill in the chapters I haven’t flushed out enough and then add chapter transitions because there’s some that I just stared at the screen completely blocked on how to end the scene and just left it as it was.

The ending is written to an extent. I have my prologue written, which came early in this project. I know how book 3 will end as well and likely book 4 which should be the end of the series. The only book that feels a bit vague in my head is book 2 in terms of endings.

The lead up and the actual climax of book 1 hasn’t been written yet so I will likely start in on that after tomorrow.

Okay, now word count update!!!!!

Project Prophecy:59,032

This means I will absolutely hit 60k tomorrow. I literally won’t give myself any choice even if it takes me all frigging day. So that’s awesome and feels honestly so, so great. As of right now, it looks like I’m ahead of my deadline which was exactly what I was hoping for. I want to get into edits as soon as possible so I can see the end vision a little clearer.

That’s all for today. Stay writing even when the ink is dry.
