A pretty dang good Monday this one was.

I was radio silent yesterday save for the short story I posted in the morning and honestly, best idea I’ve had in a long time. I think it might be the reason I came into today with ferocity and managed almost 1500 words.

I’m also riding the high that was from a really beautiful and kind comment that was left on my short story. Being a writer is mostly rejection, criticism, and the thickening of one’s skin. But every once and a while, and at the beginning stages it really is a blue moon occasion, we get some feedback that is entirely positive and makes us aware that our readers are in fact out there.

I feel forever grateful that at this point in my author journey, I’ve had a handful of moments that have been signs for me. Little tethers to this dream that keeps me from abandoning ship. I’ve even created a folder in my email titled “reminder you’re a good writer” for the days I need to reread some contest feedback, so I don’t spiral too much.

Anywho, like I said, today was a dang good day so let’s get to the word count update!

Project Prophecy is now at 57,209…I’ll be over 60k by the end of the week.

I am just baffled by the progress. I was so stuck and finding my own version of a writing routine and using this blog to motivate me to have a noticeable update in my word count has done absolute wonders for my progression within this epic fantasy. I am so excited to eventually get into the fun parts like announcing the title and showing a cover.

But for now, stay writing, cause ain’t nobody gonna do it for you.
