I figured out some things about my project…and my writing style.

For one, I am notoriously terrible at details. I have to consciously think about providing details like what a character looks like, what their surroundings look like, and all that fun stuff. And perhaps it’s because we’re on day 13 of writing every single day (save for a day that was only this blog), but every descriptor I use sounds like garbage to me. Reads like garbage? You get it.

I started my Saturday off by making myself breakfast. I’ve taken to making sausage and egg wraps at home (because money saving, yes please!). I do a small whole wheat tortilla, some mayo, a breakfast sausage patty, and an egg that I sprinkle seasoning on (onion powder, garlic powder, peppercorn, and sometimes turmeric). It is delicious and filling enough to take me to lunch without needing any kind of snackage. I am a certified snackaholic.

Then, because I needed to write, I instead continued to fill in my new notebook with what I needed to research for when I can officially publish. That was about an hour of looking into different things I could do with this site and all the avenues available to me for the many parts of becoming a published author.

***This is the new notebook I picked up from Walmart. It made me laugh while also being girly and cute as all heck…so I bought it. Obviously.***

Finally, I wrote!!! I didn’t write as much as I wanted to, but still more than typical so I’ll take it as a win. This was also sprinkled with household chores (some of which were used as a means to distract myself from writing. Why do we do this?) and 45 minutes on my walking pad which I’m actually really proud of myself for. I typically put on a YouTube video when I do this so today, I watched Ryan Trahan’s newest add into his “50 states in 50 days” series. It’s kind of incredible how much money him and his wife have raised for St.Judes. What a beautiful thing to be in a position to do something like that. I followed it up with a HopeScope video because her videos are just such a comfort watch.

Now onto the word count!

Project Prophecy:55,680

I think I’m going to aim for the completed manuscript to be anywhere between 75-100k. I think that’s a pretty good starter size for a newbie and hopefully won’t be daunting for a reader to pick up. Even authors I’m a fan of and know all the work of can sometimes put me off with how large of a book they’ve written. I’ll read anything Sarah J. Maas puts out at this point but Crescent City all being 700-800 pages each was a lot…

Anyways! Stay writing so you can get away with making bigger books!

Ps. There may be a short story posted tomorrow morning…and like maybe you could read it? Just for funsies!
